Keith Lansley, Director of Player Development
Coach Keith Lansley has been an assistant coach in the highly successful Shenendehowa Baseball program since 2004. He has coached various levels in his time at Shenendehowa, with 5 years at the freshmen level and 2 years at the junior varsity level. Recently, Keith has been at the Varsity level and has the responsibility of overseeing the entire development of pitchers in the program since 2011.
The program and players are currently experiencing the greatest era of success since its inception in 1955. Since 2013, Coach Lansley has developed a pitching staff that has had (18) Suburban Council All-Stars recognized and (4) ‘Pitcher of the Year’ players named by the league. Most recently, he has developed (4) M.L.B. draft picks including, Bryan Warzek – 2018 L.A. Dodgers 6th round, Ian Anderson – 2016 Atlanta Braves 3rd pick/1st round, 2016 Ben Anderson – Toronto Blue Jays 26th round/2019 13th round Texas Rangers. In addition, he has had a number of pitchers who have continued their careers at all levels of college baseball.
With Coach Lansley’s contributions, the program has witnessed the following since 2013: (5) League or Divisional Championships, (4) Section 2 Championships – 2013, 2014, 2016, 2019, (6) Consecutive trips to the Sectional 2 Championship Game, (4) Regional Championship Games 2013, 2014, 2016, 2019, (3) Regional Championships 2014, 2016, 2019, (3) State Championship Games 2014, 2016, 2019, and (1) State Championship 2016. The programs overall winning percentage since 2013 over .780%.
Keith Lansley teaches 7th grade Social Studies at Acadia Middle School in the Shenendehowa School District in Clifton Park, New York. In addition, of handling the pitching responsibilities, he also has presented at local baseball clinics and has coached various summer league teams and player development camps. In 2012, he led the local Babe Ruth team to the Eastern New York Championship. He has level 1 certification in groundskeeper management for baseball fields. He is a member of the National High School Baseball Coaches Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association.
In 1994, as a junior, Keith pitched a perfect game in the Section 2 Championship. The achievement is believed to be still the only perfect game pitched in championship competition in New York State scholastic history. He went on to pitch at St. Rose under legendary coach Bob Bellizzi and in 2000 he was named to the first team all conference team as a starting pitcher, that team would go on to capture an NCAA regional title and a birth in DII World Series in Montgomery Alabama. Keith was captain of both championship teams. Keith was inducted into the Shenendehowa Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2019 as a player.
Keith, his wife Staci and their two daughters Margaret and Katherine reside in nearby Charlton NY.
